Description | We were hiking in the head waters forest reserve at the end of elk River on Saturday night. The sun was setting and there was a most lonesome sounding howel in the woods on the outer right after passing the education center about 1/2 mile in. It scared my son and his friend too badly to go check. I tried calling it, hoping it would follow us out. No luck. It howled a couple more times (the same way a wolf might). Same hotel reach time. For a total of three or four. I know it may have been a coyote. But it keeps tugging at me. What if it wasn't? It still called after I did. And it's first hotel was as we were walking parallel to it. I've got a terrible recording of its sound if any one wants to hear it. Like I said, it may be a coyote. But I didn't hear any others. |
