On our way home about an hour ago my husband hit a small dog that ran out from between parked cars near 14th and F Street. We stopped and picked the dog up, does not appear to be too injured but we took it to Myrtle Avenue Veterinary Hospital. They are going to triage it and then call animal control. There was no collar on the dog, seems healthy and not a stray. We wanted to stay but my husband has to be to work at 3:30pm. If anyone knows who it belongs to please let me know or call the Vet 707-443-8686.
Update 4:45pm - “I called the vet for an update on the dog. It is a male. They said he seems fine, standing up. They also said that they can't even tell that it was hit. I think maybe we stopped in time for it to just run into our wheel. It's mouth was a little bloody but that's about it. They contacted animal control and they are short staffed so if they don't pick the dog up by 5:30pm it will be staying the night at the vet.” ~ Kristi |
